Here are 5 of the best beaches in the Philippines

When I first started traveling the world (part-time of course), Philippines wasn’t on my radar. I had a planned a 6-month trip throughout South East Asia. I had $2,000USD in the bank I was learning to speak Mandarin Chinese at the time. I promised my mother I would actually take this trip when I had $10,000 in the bank so that I had money in case something happened. Then I met my future husband.

He grew up in Manila, Philippines until he was 15 years old. He would tell me how beautiful Philippines was, but that he hasn’t been home in almost 20 years because he couldn’t make the time. Of course I went to work finding cheap airfares to Manila, and I did find them! $575 round trip from JFK-MNL with a stop in Beijing. A few months later and we left for the Philippines.

We spent time with his family, and then we made our way to Boracay. I fell in love with the island. Long-story short I fell in love with the Philippines (I’m still trying to convince my husband that once I retire we need to move there permanently). We bought a condo there and back a few more time since my first time there.

So now without further ado, here’s my list of the 5 Best Beaches in the Philippines

1. Boracay's White Beach – Paradise on a Shoestring

First stop, the iconic White Beach in Boracay! Fly into Caticlan Airport, take a short boat ride, and you'll find yourself in beach nirvana. Hotels on Boracay range from budget-friendly hostels at around $30 a night to luxurious resorts that might set you back $250. White Beach is a slice of paradise with its powdery sands and vibrant nightlife. For me, it was worth every peso.

I stayed at a resort called Sea Wind Boracay (I make no commission from clicking that link, I just really enjoyed this hotel). This resort was right on the beach, and the

rooms were beautiful and large. The hotel included breakfast buffet in the mornings, and the staff was very kind and helpful. We also arranged a special dinner on the beach - let me tell you the best part! 5 course dinner complete with table set-up and decorations, DJ, 3 waitresses (for 5 people) for $60/person.

We saw a set up being completed for the owner of the resort the day before and asked if we could have that for his Tito and Tita’s 37 wedding anniversary. I couldn’t explain how beautiful is was and how unforgettable that dinner was. The chefs even came to present the dessert at the end of the night.

2. El Nido, Palawan – Nature's Extravaganza

Next up, the breathtaking El Nido in Palawan. After flying into Puerto Princesa, embark on a scenic bus or van ride to reach this tropical haven. Accommodations here cater to various budgets, starting from cozy guesthouses at $35 to lavish beachfront resorts at $300. El Nido's dramatic limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and crystal-clear waters are a nature lover's playground.

3. Siargao Island – Surf's Up, Paradise Found

To experience the surfer's paradise of Siargao, catch a flight to Siargao Airport. The island offers an array of accommodations, including beachside bungalows for $40 and stylish resorts for around $200. Siargao isn't just about epic waves; it's also a place where you can embrace island life with your toes in the sand.

4. Nacpan Beach, Palawan – A Hidden Gem Unearthed

Back to Palawan, this time to the hidden treasure of Nacpan Beach. Fly into Puerto Princesa, then embark on a three-hour drive to reach this unspoiled paradise. Accommodation options span from rustic beach huts at $45 to boutique beachfront villas at $150. Nacpan Beach's untouched beauty and laid-back vibe make it a hidden gem well worth the journey.

5. Bantayan Island, Cebu – A Beach Lover's Oasis

Last but not least, make your way to Bantayan Island in Cebu. Fly into Cebu City, then take a bus or ferry to reach this beach lover's paradise. Accommodations on the island range from charming guesthouses for $25 to beachfront resorts for approximately $150. Bantayan Island offers a tranquil escape with its powdery sands and azure waters.

So, there you have it, my fellow beach aficionado – my list of the Philippines' finest beaches, each with its unique charm. Whether you're into nightlife, nature, or simply unwinding on the sand, the Philippines has a beach just waiting for you. Pack your swimsuit and sunscreen, and let's go chase some waves and soak up the sun in this tropical paradise! 🌴🌞✈️
